Of the total of 13,843 hectares of the park, the land occupies 10,780 ha (900 ha of nature reserves) and the marine part 3,064 ha (835 ha of natural reserves).
Pla de Tudela is one of the most spectacular corners of the Natural Park of Cap de Creus. A whimsical geological configuration has left a unique landscape, full of amazing rock formations that inspired artists like Salvador Dalí.
The climate of the area and the human activity has determined that bushes and shrubs occupy most part of the park area. In the coastal area we find the most interesting plants, especially the Seseli Farreny, not found anywhere else in the world. The most prominent animal species are the reptiles, seabirds and predatory birds. In spring and autumn, when migratory movements occur, the Creus Cape is a privileged place for bird watching. The seabed is characterized by its great richness. From the coast you can see whales, during the spring, and dolphins.
Built in the mid-19th century at the eastern end of the cape, over the foundation of an ancient costal watchtower, the lighthouse is still operational. The place offers magnificent views of the park. It is possible to get here departing from Cadaqués.
