Vall de Núria Ski Resort

Vall de Núria is a small mountain resort that does not stand out for the number of tracks or ski lifts, but for the beauty and tranquility of the landscape. The place has a great charm and is full of history. The picture with the lake, the sanctuary, the glacial valleys, the torrents, all surrounded by peaks of almost 3,000 meters, is truly impressive.

This family-friendly and cozy ski resort is located in the Eastern Pyrenees at an altitude of 2,000 m, within the municipality of Queralbs. In the winter months it has all the necessary services for skiing practice and learning. In the rest of the year it becomes a starting point for mountain excursions. In addition, the Marian sanctuary is a place of religious pilgrimage. .

Vall de Nuria Rack Train

The only way to access the sanctuary and the ski station of the Vall de Nuria, apart from the mountain paths, is through one of the two existing cogwheel railway lines on the Iberian Peninsula, built in 1931. The Vall de Núria rack train leaves from Ribes de Freser and runs a distance of 12.5 km, surpassing a vertical drop of 1,059 meters in 40 minutes. The train route has four stations and a halt.
