Representative Catalan Gothic monuments

Barcelona

14th century church dedicated to the Mother of Christ, a work of the architect Berenguer de Montagut. With a solid and robust appearance, the Santa Maria del Mar basilica is considered the greatest exponent of Catalan Gothic.

Monumental complex considered as one of the best examples of Catalan Gothic, located in the upper part of Barcelona. It is composed of the church and the monastery of the Order of the Poor Clares.

Manresa

At the top of the Puigcardener hill, close to the River Cardener, stands the basilica of Saint Mary (la Seu), one of the most representative examples of Catalan Gothic and the most emblematic building in Manresa.

Tortosa

Beautiful Catalan Gothic cathedral located in the old center of Tortosa, on the banks of the river Ebro. One of the most singular elements of the building is the head with double ambulatory, a unique case in Catalonia.

Barcelona

Majestic Gothic civil building built in the 13th-14th centuries as shipyard and arsenal of galleys of the Kingdom of Aragon. The complex is now home to the Barcelona Maritime Museum.
