The church of Sant Climent de Taüll is a construction with basilical plan, three naves, three apses covered with semi-domes and a svelte bellfry. The three naves are separated by columns and have no windows. The perfection of the plan and the modernity of the Lombard decoration contrasts with something primitive central wooden roof covered by slate.
✔ The splendid and imposing bell tower, attached to the south wall but with access from the outside. It is a six storeys high Lombard tower with geminate windows.
✔ The mural paintings. The valuable original frescoes are stored in the National Museum of Art of Catalonia, in Barcelona. The image of Christ in Majesty, known as Pantocrator de Taüll, an emblematic image of Catalan Romanesque painting, occupied a large part of the central apse. In the church you can see fragments of painting recovered recently. Currently an innovative method has been implemented that allows the video mapping projection of the original paintings image inside the central nave.
